Furniture Repair, Restoration, & Refinishing
Preserving the Pieces That Matter Most
Quality furniture is meant to last, but years of daily use can leave even well-built pieces worn, damaged, or structurally compromised. Whether it’s a family dining table that has hosted decades of gatherings or a well-loved end table showing signs of wear, our thoughtful expert repair and restoration can bring new life to furniture that still has many years ahead of it.
At High Road Handcrafted, we provide careful furniture repair and restoration services for homeowners throughout mid-Michigan who want to preserve the beauty, integrity, and function of their solid wood furniture.

A Thoughtful Approach
We believe in honoring the original character of your furniture while restoring is strength and beauty. The goal is not to erase the story of a piece, but to restore its strength, beauty, and functionality while preserving the character that makes it meaningful.
Each project is evaluated individually to determine the most appropriate approach, whether that means structural repairs, refinishing, or carefully blending new work with the original materials.

When Restoration Makes Sense
Furniture repair and restoration can be a great option when:
• The piece has sentimental or family value
• The furniture is well built but structurally worn
• A solid wood piece simply needs refinishing or repair
• Replacing the piece would mean losing something meaningful
If a piece is not a good candidate for restoration, we will always be honest and help guide you toward the best solution.

We had the privilege to work with the Lansing School District to refinish this Conference/Directors table that has been in use at Sexton High School since 1940!
As you can see it was in dire need of refinishing work and we are very happy with the transformation and new life for this storied table.
Before and after of our repair work on this dining chair. Our Client leaned back a bit too far (it happens!) and the back leg broke off!
After cleaning the debris/break we were able to make a sturdy repair to the leg joint that perfectly blends in and allow us to save this piece for their dining room set (which is no longer in production by the original manufacturer).
